Lisa Winter is not your normal nightclub fare. She’s not background music for coffee. She’s not a sugary treat after the meal. She’s not anybody’s wannabe. She writes and performs her own original music in a novel mix influenced by acoustic and blues, seasoned with a hint of jazz.
You could consider taking a dose of Lisa’s music as an alternative to Prozac. Her songs are conversations with her audience~ her voice is distinctive and surprisingly vulnerable.
Lisa grew up in upstate New York and began performing in her teens. She lived and sang during her travel around the Midwest for ten years, honing her craft before beginning to write and record in earnest over the past ten years.
She produced her first CD, ‘Shine’ in 2000 and continued to work on writing while also doing local performances. In 2004 she released a second CD, ‘Come What May’ in support of a local annual performance to benefit the Breast Cancer Coalition. Lisa’s release, ‘Ain’t The Same’ is a creative collection of current tunes with new textures. She is currently in the studio with her band recording her soon to be released CD, ‘You Can Tell’.
