Traffic & Parking for Residents

WHAT DO I DO ABOUT DRIVING AND PARKING IN CORN HILL DURING THE FESTIVAL?

Corn Hill Commons Streets affected:

  • Corn Hill Place
  • Frederick Douglass St.
  • South Fitzhugh St. from South Plymouth St to Glasgow St.

This area will be the most affected by the traffic flow and parking restrictions and will be given first preference for parking permits. We all thank you for your patience and commitment to Corn Hill.

All of the streets in The Commons are closed to parking from Friday, 7:00 AM through Monday, 8:00 AM. Vehicle travel is prohibited from 8:30AM on Saturday and Sunday until the streets reopen at 7:00PM on Saturday and 6:00 PM Sunday. If you do not have off street parking available, you will need a permit to park in the Resident’s Parking lots. If you will need to move your car any time during the day, you will need to move your car to a resident parking lot before 8:30 AM.

Other Affected Streets

  • Greig St.
  • Lunsford Circle
  • South Plymouth St. – (section located in Corn Hill from Troup St. to Exchange Blvd.)

Note that some of the streets near you will be open for parking and travel. However, all of the streets are closed to parking from Friday, 7:00 AM through Monday, 8:00 AM. Again, note that only some parts of streets will be open for parking and travel. However, if you live on the section that is closed, streets are closed to parking from Friday, 7:00 AM through Monday, 8:00 AM. Vehicle travel is prohibited from 8:30AM Saturday and Sunday until the streets reopen at  7:00PM Saturday and 6:00 PM Sunday. WHAT ABOUT THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC WHEN SO MUCH IS HAPPENING IN THE STREETS?

The festival brings trucks, tents and people who are not familiar with our community. To help move the traffic, one-way signs will go up and one-way traffic will be enforced at 6:00 AM Saturday through 7:00 PM Sunday. Please note the accompanying map that identifies the traffic flow that will be enforced by the Rochester Police Department during the morning setup and afternoon takedown periods on Saturday and Sunday.

Please help your community and festival volunteers have a safe festival by “Going with the Flow”. After 8:30 a.m. the Rochester Police Department and barricades will prohibit traffic on the affected streets. In addition, members of the Festival Management Team will be walking about, looking for potential situations that could cause a visitor not to have a happy Corn Hill experience. The continued cooperation of residents in adhering to the parking and traffic flow restrictions will enable the setup and takedown process to proceed smoothly.

WHERE ARE THE PARKING LOTS AND SHUTTLES?

WHERE AND WHEN CAN I OBTAIN A PARKING PERMIT IF I NEED ONE?

Residents who live on the closed festival streets and who require parking permits should obtain a permit. There are only 200 spaces so we can only give one per household. You may pick up a parking pass at the following:

  • Festival Information or Security Tent on the corner of Frederick Douglas & Adams Street after Noon on Friday and all weekend long.

Vehicles parked on the festival streets during the restricted hours, will be towed. We regret any inconvenience. Please, adhere to the parking restrictions to avoid the fees and inconvenience.

WHAT IF I MUST LEAVE CORN HILL? CAN I GET BACK IN ?

Corn Hill residents who require access through the traffic barriers during the festival hours will need to show proof of address, a Driver’s License with Corn Hill Address. If you leave and you are on a restricted street, you must park elsewhere. Consider the shuttle bus.

WHAT TO DO WITH OUR PETS DURING THE FESTIVAL?

There is a city ordinance restricting animals at community events such as festivals. Many of our residents have pets that may require to get out side during the festival hours. Kindly make every attempt to use areas and streets not in the main festival walk ways. As always, please pick up after your pet. Please set a great example and not stroll down the hot street with your four-pawed friend baking on the macadam.
