The dynamic writing/performing duo, Erin & Ross is a one-of-a-kind musical experience. Their “New Kind of Old” genre-defying sound, distinctive for its unique instrumentation featuring guitar, french horn, and vocals is an authentic synthesis of their diverse musical backgrounds, pulling from the singer-songwriter vibe, 20’s 30’swing, big band, classical, funk, be-bop, rock, folk, bluegrass etc. The two met playing music together in 2018, and for over five years the duo’s catalog of over 50 original tunes and a wide range of re-imagined standards has delighted audiences throughout their home-town of Rochester NY, as well as at Nashville’s The Bluebird Cafe, the stages of several International Horn Symposiums, and a growing number of diverse listening rooms and festivals across the US, In recent years, they have experimented with a variety of different ensembles, from chamber orchestra to big band to a gypsy swing group, and have expanded their reach to include a variety of educational settings as well. While they love to explore the various ways their music comes to life in the hands of different musicians, they have focused in on a core ensemble of Erin on french horn, vocals and piano, Ross on vocals and guitar, bass, piano, violin, and drums, with the occasional extra member, usually sax or clarinet. Erin & Ross’s continuing musical, educational, and creative journey can be followed on their website, erinandrossmusic.com, and on Instagram, @erinandrossmusic
