Matthew Parris

Matthew Parris is a freshman majoring in music education and performance at Roberts Wesleyan College in North Chili, New York. He has played the drums since age 3 and the piano since age 6. At the age of 8 he began taking lessons at the Eastman School with Ruth Cahn. At age 15, he auditioned for and was accepted into the RPYO, in which the following year he was a winning marimba soloist in the young artist competition.

Matthew has been playing the drums and other percussion instruments at his church since age 6. He plays the piano and he sings with the youth praise team, and occasionally for the adult praise team at his church. His hobbies include sports of any kind, writing music, and spending time with his family and his girlfriend. . Matthew continues to study and learning new musical skills. He someday hopes to be a famous performer and to own his own music production company.
