Cinnamon Jones

Corn Hill Arts Festival Entertainment

Born and raised in the heart of New York City, Cinnamon Jones experienced the passion of music at an early age- through Brooklyn’s neighborhood gospel choirs. At 17, she formed the group “Young Shades of Black”, performing popular songs with a twist that sparked her own unique vibe. This vibe ignited Cinnamon’s urge to pursue a career as a solo artist. Her solo efforts were rewarded when she ventured to the West Coast. During her time in California, she performed in a wide variety of stage productions. Audiences in the Bay area were drawn to the religious fervor Cinnamon brings to her music and as a reward, she was awarded “Best Female Vocalist in the Bay area” by top star awards for 3 consecutive years. She was also featured in Billboard Magazine as one of the year’s “up and coming” new performers.

After leaving California, Cinnamon returned to her native state of New York. She currently resides in Rochester, NY, where she has recorded commercial jingles for United Way, Pella Windows, Shear Ego (Salon/Spa), Rochester Transit System (RTS), Henderson Automotive, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Aside from her role as an entertainer, Cinnamon is also a humanitarian. She continues to give benefit concerts, soliciting local musicians to help her support city-based, national, and international organizations such as; The Tsunami Relief Benefit, Alternative for Battered Women and Children, and Awaiting Parents just to name a few.

While utilizing her remarkable gift of performance, Cinnamon effortlessly combines her rich vocal talents and acting skills in productions like Dream Girls and Bubbling Brown Sugar. She is also fortunate enough to add producing to her long list of talents, an essential component in developing a spectacular entertainer. Ms Jones performed in and produced a stage play, “Lady of Song”, which premiered in May 2009 and was very well received at the 2014 Fringe Festival. During her career thus far, Cinnamon has also had the privilege to perform as an opening act for a list of phenomenal entertainers such as R & B legends Rick James and Jeffrey Osborne, Neo-Soul artist Eric Benet, Jazz artists Marion Meadows and Rick Braun, along with comedians Paul Mooney and Tommy Davidson. She recently toured in Denmark, Austria, Spain, Finland, Germany, Paris, and Africa with the internationally acclaimed Campbell Brothers.

Cinnamon’s last CD release was Live @ Nietzsche in May 2017 and she is currently working on a new CD for the fall of 2022. Cinnamon Jones will also will be releasing a documentary entitled “Generation Z” in May of 2022. Generation Z explores what kind of impact the events of the year 2020 have had on the lives of children.

With excellent musical instincts and an earthy voice that matches the searing sincerity of her songs, Cinnamon loses herself in the power of the music. After hearing one note from this talented beauty, you’ll be caught up in the rapture that is truly the spice of Cinnamon!
