The Chinchillas have been playing and recording original Americana rock’n’roll in the western New York area since 1985. Formed out of the remnants of popular Rochester area alternative music bands, the band still today retains the original lineup of Peter Anvelt (guitar, vocals), Bill Corbett (bass, vocals), Bill Ribas (lead guitar) and Paul Ruske (drums). In addition to headlining clubs and festivals throughout the region, they have opened up for national acts such as Goo Goo Dolls, 900 Ft Jesus, Jerry Harrison, Flock of Seagulls, The Ramones and Johnny Thunders. They have released several CDs on the Jargon Records independent label.
