Mike and Mel Muscarella

Corn Hill Arts Festival Entertainment

For Mike and Mel Muscarella, music is at the core. The Muscarellas met and began their musical friendship fifteen years ago when they joined a local Christian band called Theophilus. Their bond deepened both musically and personally as Theophilus wrote, recorded, and travelled the Northeast. In 2005, Theophilus disbanded and the musical future for Mike and Mel seemed uncertain.

In 2007, Mike and Mel formed two new groups! In February, the two were married in a small ceremony with friends and family. Three months later, the newlyweds formed Violet Mary an indie alternative rock band blending influences such as Stone Temple Pilots, The Black Crows, Radiohead and U2 into a uniquely original yet familiar sound. Violet Mary choose to take the road less traveled and forge its name on original music as opposed to cover material. The first three records saw a rotating cast of characters on bass and drums. In 2013, the lineup solidified and the band released its first double album All That We Seam. The ambitious work received critical acclaim in national and international music publications and is regularly heard on the 365Network of radio stations.
